Alzheimer's Disease Connection :
The disease leads to DEMENTIA which is loss of cognitive function thinking, remembering, reasoning and behavioral activities to such an extent that it interferes with a person's daily life and activities. Pathogenic oral bacteria called SPIROCHETES may cause Alzheimer'sdisease.
Pregnancy Connection :
A gum disease can lead to preterm birth, a bacteria named FUSOBACTERIUMNUCLEATUM is frequently found in gum infection that translocates from the oral flora of mothers mouth to the uterus.
Treatment :
Scaling & root planning it is a non-surgical deep cleaning of the root surfaces to remove plaque and tartar from deep periodontal pockets to allow the body to heal from the infection.
Oral Cancer Screening :
It is looking for cancer before a person has any symptoms. This can help find cancer at an early stage when abnormal tissue or tumour is found early, it may be easier to treat by the time symptoms appear cancers may have begun to spread. Certain samples are collected and tests are performed.
